The Bluestone: A Regional Business & Technology Center site is located between Bluefield and Tazewell, Virginia. The site is situated along U.S. Route 460 with immediate access to both locations. The project site is situated on property comprising approximately 680 acres which is currently a combination of farm/pastureland and woodland. In August 2003, The Tazewell County Board of Supervisors commissioned a County-wide Industrial Site Selection Study to evaluate potential sites for development as a regional industrial park. The current Bluestone location was the obvious choice due to access, grade of land, scenic beauty and potential for on-going growth and development.

The Bluestone plan today envisions a high quality research and manufacturing facility immersed in an environment full of natural and recreational resources. This plan calls for business lots, support facilities (such as a hotel/convention center and retail/residential space), and 9-hole golf course.
